Among customs swiped by dolls in their efforts
to mimic humankind, song and dance were two of
the most regularly practiced. They were quite
fond of elaborate dance routines to a mixture
of songs written by them and songs initially
created to be sung by the synthetic idols.
This was most commonly practiced within
the nest, but would also occasionally be
enjoyed in the outside world thanks to
speaker technology stolen from humans and
adapted to the dolls' purposes, taking
refuge not merely in audacity,
but in admirability.
Most agreed the synthetic idols to have the
better voices as far as singing went, but it
didn't stop certain dolls from becoming
mini-celebrities among their own and humans
alike, especially for their graceful, elegant
movements that lent themselves well to the
art of dance. Two high dolls, Clarinda and
Lucimi, were both well-known in this regard.
